Wednesday, March 23rd

Skip again showed improvement for Wednesday. They didn't do as much Therapy because he was moved to Dominican. Thank you for all of your love and support, I'm sure he knows how many people are behind him and his will to improve and get better allowed for the move. He will be at Dominican for a while where the rehab process is pretty aggressive. After speaking with my mom, it seems that the visiting hours start at 4:30pm, this is because they have a total of 3 hours of rehab spread out until that time. It seems exhaustive but definitely something he would want. His schedule pre-stroke included 2-3 days of working out, 2-3 days of golf or hitting balls and a bunch of computer time and working the deals each week. We are all encouraged still and the MD at Dominican said he thought he felt some pressure or slight movement yesterday. Today at Domincan they will go through a thorough assessment. I haven't been to the room but I understand it's much larger than the room at SVMH and it has a board for documenting everything that they are working on. I have never actually been to an acute rehab center but definitely believe this is going to be the place where we get him back to as close to normal as possible.
I know yesterday prior to the move, he was a bit anxious but Scott and my mom were speaking to him and calmed his nerves and told him more about what Dominican will be doing. He was ready to go. On the evening of Tuesday, Skip had said a few words to the nurse, he said: red, and Skip go...! It's nice to see some of his vocab coming around and I'm sure we will get his fiesty self back. Maybe we should have the staff teach him all words except Democrat, Liberal, John Kerry, Hilary Clinton...haha!
ANyhow, we are pleased so far on his progress and rapid improvement and I appreciate everyone's feedback, encouragement and emails! Lots of love to all of you!
Love, The Crist Family

Jason, you are doing a wonderful job with the website. I read it daily and print it out for my mom to read.
